Shamsher Singh (Kumar), a discharged military officer who wants to settle down as a farmer. His marriage is arranged with the educated Neela (Veera) who ditches him at the last minute and goes to the city where she learns that she stands to inherit a fortune if she gets married within 8 days. After rejecting several suitors, she finally falls in love with Shamsher Singh, whom she meets in the city unaware that he is the person to whom she was earlier betrothed. Singh treats her badly and she sues him but in the end the two realise that they love each other.

A scientist on the run with a valuable formula is murdered, and the only witnesses are eight blind people.

This film tells about the most striking and tragic phenomenon during the development of self-awareness of the Latvian nation – the Latvian Riflemen. The first Daugavgrīva regiment, the second Riga, third Kurland, fifth Semigallian, sixth Tukums, seventh Bauska and eighth Valmiera regiments of Latvian Riflemen – this was Latvia before its statehood. The film is a historically chronological study beginning with the formation of the Riflemen battalions and their first battles until the end of the Civil War in Russia, when a large part of the Riflemen returned home to the recently established state of Latvia. This is a story about common people challenged by the Big Epoch that determined their lives.

Mark, a 12-year-old sloppy teenager from a rich family, is sent by his mother from Moscow to Kamchatka to live with his harsh father, Kai, after another scandalous offense. Far from his usual life, the Internet and school friends, the boy finds himself in the world of dog sled racing. Working with animals — the snow eight charming husky dogs — becomes a real challenge for him. Gradually, Mark finds friends — Anya and Petka — and discovers the power of the team, where trust and support are important. And mom and dad have to change their views on raising a child and, most importantly, look at each other with completely new eyes.
